ABOUT SFP

Who We Are
The SoulFire Project is a multicultural, nomadic music experience forged through constant movement. For over 15 years, we’ve toured independently across Latin America and Europe, creating high-energy performances rooted in rhythm, movement, and collective presence.
Our sound weaves reggae and cumbia with folk, Afro-Latin, and Caribbean elements — blending global grooves and infectious melodies performed in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. With one fist raised in solidarity and the other inviting people to move, our music calls for coherence between awareness and action.
Each show is designed to be lived — an embodied experience where music, movement, and message converge.

Music Cultivated on the Road
The SoulFire Project was not formed in a single place, but through years of travel, exchange, and direct connection with audiences. What began as six friends busking in mercados across Mexico grew through street performances in the barrios of Nicaragua and Panamá, benefit concerts for social causes, and festival stages across Latin America, Europe, and the United States.
Our music has been shaped by this long journey — cultivated through travel, growth, and a living relationship with the places and people we encounter, rather than trends or categories. SFP exists at the crossroads of world music, roots, and contemporary global sounds, carrying the imprint of the territories and communities encountered along the way.

Touring, Community & Sustainability
Touring is not just how we share our music — it is how the project lives. For more than a decade, The SoulFire Project has traveled over 60,000 miles across Latin America aboard a converted 1979 school bus powered by used vegetable oil and solar energy.
This nomadic path has allowed us to move beyond intention into action, collaborating with schools, families, and communities through workshops and sustainable projects. Living and traveling this way has deepened our connection to the struggles, resilience, and wisdom of the territories we pass through — experiences that shape both our music and our work beyond the stage.
Forging our own path as an independent, multicultural project has been both beautiful and demanding, reinforcing the power of self-determination, collaboration, and community.

The Live Experience
A SoulFire Project show is high-energy, dance-driven, and participatory. Afro-Latin percussion, layered rhythms, and movement-forward melodies combine with moments of spoken word and collective reflection.
Whether on festival stages, in clubs, or community spaces, the intention is consistent: to create a powerful, grounded space where people move, listen, and connect through music.

Today
Today, The SoulFire Project continues to tour internationally while strengthening its professional systems and long-term sustainability. As we expand our presence in Europe and Latin America, we remain rooted in the values that shaped us from the beginning: movement, coherence, and music as a force for connection and change.
